The very thought of taking adventure holidays in Lapland is very off putting to some individuals, this is because they are accustomed to the long tradition standing of summer holidays on the seashore, or maybe some similar type of location. The very vision of being stationed within a frozen sub zero landscape compared to somewhere warm and welcoming closes the minds of many. So what actually is the appeal to anyone to spend money on and actually go on such a vacation. Quite simply to experience something completely different from the norm, to have at least a moment that will stand out to them as unforgettable. People go there all of the time to do just that, to do something really special at least once in their lifetime, being truly pleased with themselves that they made the effort. After having the experience you can always go back to the traditional way you are used to, but just imagine having witnessed first hand the majestic frozen landscapes of the Arctic Circle.

Now I do not know about where you live, but where I live we do not seem to get the snow to the same extent that we did when I was a youngster. Back in those days it seemed like we could permanently keep a sledge at the ready, but now it hardly seems worthwhile to do so. An adventure holiday in Lapland will guarantee snowy conditions for sure. Among the many adventures of skiing, snowboarding and other things of that nature, are the husky sledding ventures. Alaska is home to world famous dog sledding races, which takes each participant on a one thousand eight hundred kilometre journey (1,100 miles) that can last for more than ten days. It truly is a display of courage and cooperation between man and dog that generates an air of excitement on behalf of both. While no one is expected to go on such a long venture as those racers do, nevertheless, the cut down versions still have that same effect making it an experience of a life time which will not be easily forgotten!

Modern day France is well known to many people with millions of tourists going to its many holiday locations year in and year out. Much of its history is to be seen throughout the many sites that can be visited by travellers on holiday there. Southern France is no exception as it too has a long history. Back in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries the region was not known as the southern France, but the happenings back then may give some clue as to the idea of the French language being a romantic one. Yes, during those periods, the troubadours flourished, who were poet-musicians that wrote mostly songs of courtly love and chivalry, but where also involved in the daily affairs socially, politically and also religiously. There compositions where in langue d’oc, said to be the most refined of all the vernacular Romance languages, and the common tongue of just about all France south of the Loire River, and regions of Italy and Spain adjacent to it. Real musicians of their time, with ability to pluck from the air the correct word or rhyme to add to their sophisticated verse. So perhaps with that kind of background the French language might well truly be a language of romance!
